Our Last Crusade Or The Rise Of A New World Season 2 Release Date and Everything We Know So Far

A press release announced the production of a "sequel" to the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe, Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen (KimiSen: Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World). No production details or a scheduled release date were revealed, nor is it specified what they mean by "sequel", as it could be a movie or a second season.


Our Last Crusade is an anime developed by Japanese animation studio Silver Link, based on the same name from the light novel series written by author Kei Sazan and illustrated by Ao Nikonabi. Kadokawa first published the light novel in 2017, followed by manga and anime adaptations.

Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen

The first season aired during the Fall-2020 season (October-December) and featured twelve episodes. Kei Sazane and Ao Nekonabe began publishing the light novels through Fujimi Shobo Publishing House's Fantasia Bunko imprint in May 2017. A manga adaptation by Okama is published in Hakusensha Publishing House's Young Animal magazine since May 2018.

Production Team

Shin Oonuma (BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense, ef: a tale of memories, Watamote) and Mirai Minato (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Masamune-kun no Revenge, Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san) were in charge of directing the first season at SILVER LINK studios.

Kento Shimoyama (Death March Kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku, Binbogami ga!, Servant x Service, Naka no Hito Genome [Jykkyouchuu]) was in charge of writing and supervising the scripts for the series.

Kaori Sato (Tasogare Otome x Amnesia) was in charge of character design and animation direction.

Synopsis of Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen

A force known as astral power spreads throughout the world, wielded by astral magicians. Fearing its destructive power, the "Empire" hunts down those who display its abilities. The tormented mages then found the Sovereignty of Nebulis to flee their oppressors. Since then, the two nations have been in bitter conflict, the war still raging for over a century. After committing the great crime of freeing an imprisoned witch, the talented knight Iska is sentenced to prison.

A year later, the Empire's leaders suddenly decide to release him on the condition that he hunts down a fearsome wizard known as the "Ice Calamity Witch". Hoping to end the war, Iska agrees. Coincidentally, the Ice Calamity Witch herself, Aliceliese "Alice" Lou Nebulis XI, also desires peace and is willing to do whatever it takes to end the Empire. As Iska and Alice yearn for a crusade that will turn the world into one without strife, misfortune, or pain, the threads of fate draw them ever closer together, creating a bond that goes beyond something fabricated by mere coincidence.
