Most Anticipated Anime of Spring 2022 Ranked By Fans

With the Spring of 2022 anime season under way, these are the newest instalments to some of people's most beloved series.

Spring 2022 TV Anime Sequels

(1) The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2

The Rising of The Shield Hero is confirmed to premiere its second season of the anime television series adaption starting April 6, 2022. One of the best isekai anime series, The anime was initially slated to release last year in October however, it got postponed due to some production issues.

Shield Hero is a light novel adaptation that follows the journey of Naofumi Iwatani, who is summoned into a parallel world to become one of the four Cardinal Heroes, ‘The Shield Hero’. Season 2 will explore the fantasy world of the series more in-depth as a lot of new theories surrounding other dimensions were revealed at the end of the first season.

(2) Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Ultra Romantic

Coming in April 2022, there's another anime that anime fans shouldn't overlook, Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Where the anime returns with the third part this year, which will be more fun compared to the past two seasons.

In the high school department of Shuchen Academy, Student Council President Miyuki Shirogan and Vice President Kaguya Shinomiya seem to be a perfect match. Although they love each other, they are very proud to confess their love, and come up with various schemes to make the other confess.

(3) The Devil is a Part Timer! Season 2

The highly anticipated second season of the anime The Devil is a Part-Timer! will release in July 2022, according to a new trailer for the series.

The Devil is a Part-Timer! is based on a light novel by Satoshi Wagahara, which premiered in 2011 and just recently ended its run last August. The anime is directed by Daisuke Tsukushi and produced by Studio 3Hz. Masahiro Yokotani and Ryosuke Nakanishi are attached to the series as heading up the composition and music, respectively, and Yudai Iino has joined the team for the second season as a character designer.

(4) Chinsow Man

So far, it is only known that the anime will be broadcast on Japanese TV and will be produced by MAPPA studio, which has overseen the following great works (“Jujutsu Kaisen Anime”, “Attack on Titan: Final Season”).

Sawman is an anime written by Tatsuki Fujimoto and has been published in Weekly Shonen Jump since December 2018. The first part of the series ends in the next issue, which will be published on December 14, 2020. The second part of the series is coming soon in the “Shonen Jump +” app.

Shueisha Publishing House "Shueisha" has so far released nine volumes in Japanese Transactions, two of which are already available in English and this translation is provided by Viz Media.

As of the time of writing, the official release date for Chainsaw Man has not been revealed, but Chainsaw Man Season 1 is expected to premiere in November 2021.

(5) Spy x Family

Spy X Family is the story of a brilliant spy named "Twilight" who is given a top secret mission. To do this, Twilight was tasked with creating a family in a week and coming up with a plan to deal with the case. He must act quickly to maintain peace between East and West.

(6) Aoashi

Ashito Aoi is a young, aspiring soccer player from a backwater town in Japan. His hopes of getting into a high school with a good soccer club are dashed when he causes an incident during a critical match for his team, which results in their loss and elimination from the tournament.

(7) Ascendance of a Bookworm 3rd Season

The story follows Motosu Urano, a book-loving post-secondary student and soon-to-be librarian who ends up crushed to death beneath a pile of books during an earthquake. Urano awakens in the body of a weak, five-year-old girl named Myne in a world where books are scarce and only available to elites. Myne, retaining her memories from her previous life, decides to create and print her own books so that she can read again.

(8) Black Rock Shooter: Dawn Fall

n the year 2062, Earth finds itself fiercely battling Artemis—an AI which rebelled against humankind following a grand-scale workforce automation project failure years prior. In the hope of winning the war, a group of three highly skilled human warriors is assembled, known as the guardians of humanity.

Empress, the last surviving guardian, wakes up alone in an empty research facility. Unable to recall anything from the past except a place called "Lighthouse No. 8," she begins to search for answers. It is not long before she discovers an impending threat from Artemis—and she is the sole person who can save the world from destruction.
